To create a house-to-house record for a street, press the plus button on the home screen. In iOS, this is in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen. In Android, this is in the lower-right-hand corner of the screen.
The “New Record” screen will appear. Here you can add the name of the street and choose what address numbers will appear on the screen. Type or select a starting number, and type or select a number of houses.
Tip: Although you can select a specific range of numbers to match the house numbers on the street, you do not need to be exact with the starting number and number of houses. The goal is to generate all the address numbers you think you might use, so when in doubt, overestimate. Use a higher starting number and a generous number of houses. Address numbers that you don’t interact with will not appear in any not-at-home slip you create or export.
When you’re ready…
- in iOS, press the Done button in the upper-right-hand corner.
- in Android, press the Ready button at the bottom.
Recording Not-at-Homes and Return Visits
You now have a grid of possible address numbers. Tap an address number…
- One time to record that it is a not-at-home (the box will be orange).
- A second time to record that it will be a return visit (the box will be dark blue).
- A third time to reset, to make it neither a not-at-home or return visit (the box will be the light blue color again).
Create a Note
To add a note for an address number, long press the number to reveal its context menu. Select “Add a note”. There you can type the contents of the note. If you have set up Quick Notes in Settings, you can tap text you use often and add it to the note. (See Custom Settings).
Adding and Removing DNCs
If a householder has requested that you do not return and you want record an address as a do-not-return (or a do-not-call, DNC), long press the address number and select “Mark DO NOT RETURN”. To undo this, long press the address number and select “Remove DO NOT RETURN”.
